Microsoft Launches Copilot Pro for Consumers

Microsoft has introduced a new paid plan for Copilot, its suite of AI-powered productivity tools, called Copilot Pro. Priced at $20 per user per month, Copilot Pro is designed for individual consumers who already have a Microsoft 365 Personal or Family plan.

This plan does not include a Microsoft 365 subscription and is an additional cost, bringing the total for the lowest-tier Microsoft 365 subscription to $27 per month.

Copilot Pro offers enhanced AI features across various Microsoft applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote on PC, Mac, and iPad. These features include writing, editing, summarizing, and generating text in Word and OneNote, creating presentations and data visualizations in Excel and PowerPoint, and drafting email responses in Outlook.

Subscribers of Copilot Pro also get 100 daily “boosts” in Designer (formerly Bing Image Creator) for faster image generation, improved quality, and landscape formatting options. They will have priority access to the latest AI models, including OpenAI’s GPT-4 Turbo, ensuring better performance during peak times.

In the future, Copilot Pro users will be able to switch between different AI models and use Microsoft’s upcoming Copilot GPT Builder to create custom “Copilots” for specific topics from sets of prompts.

Alongside the consumer-focused Copilot Pro, Microsoft is expanding the availability of its enterprise-level Copilot offerings.

Copilot is now generally available for organizations subscribed to various Microsoft 365 and Office 365 plans. The enterprise version includes a “Copilot” in Teams for real-time summaries and action items, as well as enterprise-grade data protection and the Semantic Index for more personalized and relevant responses.

Microsoft is also launching Copilot GPTs on the web client for Copilot, tailored to specific topics like fitness, travel, and cooking. A free mobile app for Copilot is now live for Android and iOS, offering access to GPT-4, DALL-E 3 for image creation, and chat history syncing.

Copilot will also be integrated into the Microsoft 365 mobile app for Android and iOS, allowing users to export content created with Copilot to Word or PDF documents.

Lastly, Microsoft plans to expand Copilot to support additional languages in the first half of 2024, including Arabic, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, Hebrew, Hungarian, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, and Ukrainian.
